The BIOCIUS Lead Discovery Service utilizes label-free RapidFire technology for direct quantitation of a wide range of native analytes across diverse therapeutic areas. Over the past 5 years, RapidFire mass spectrometry has been used in our laboratory to screen tens of millions of compounds for our clients, helping them to discover promising new drugs. RapidFire data is delivered in a format that is easy to interpret and analyze within existing laboratory workflows. This, combined with short turn-around times, enables quick decisions on potential lead compounds.
RapidFire mass spectrometry’s native detection technique precludes the need for optically or radioactively labeled substrates permitting the detection of native molecules. The ideal candidate assays for RapidFire Lead Discovery are often the same ones that are difficult to screen using traditional HTS techniques. These include enzymatic targets that have lipidic or very small substrates, epigenetic targets and others. Although complicated to analyze, these targets are important in a wide variety of therapeutic areas.
