Assays that measure microsomal stability are used to predict metabolic clearance early in drug discovery in order to eliminate poor performers and/or to identify compounds that require modification. Mass spectrometry is the preferred analysis method for this assay due to its sensitivity, specificity and robustness.

However, microsomal stability assays are usually analyzed using tandem MS, which is limited by its requirement for compound dependent method development. BIOCIUS offers a faster and more efficient solution to the analysis of these assays that still leverages the strengths of mass spec analysis.
